Teething
Teething begin in infants from 2 months old, even though they may be a ‘late’ teether. One of the first tooth that appears is on the lower, central incisors.
As these teeth emerge, the gum may look red or swollen. Sometimes a ‘blood blister’, (fluid-filled) can form over the emerging tooth.
Many children have little or no problem with teething, while others may have significant discomfort. Usually, the pain with teething comes and goes and may seem to ease after several minutes.
What is Children's Dentistry?
Children's dentistry focuses on promoting good oral hygiene habits and providing dental care to children from infancy through adolescence. The primary goal of pediatric dentists is to ensure that children develop and maintain healthy teeth and gums. They specialize in treating young patients and have extensive experience in managing the unique challenges that come with treating children. Some of the services provided by pediatric dentists include preventive care, dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings, and more. By taking your child to a pediatric dentist, you can help ensure that they have a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime.
