Poor Dental Habits

Multitasking while brushing. Some might debate this. Perhaps it helps to brush in the shower, but are you compromising the task? By all means leave the radio on, it might mean you keep brushing for longer without getting bored. Just make sure you brush well.

Brush Cleaning
Over cleaning the brush. You just need to rinse the brush and keep it in place where the air is germ free (i.e.: away from the toilet). Use an UV light container to sterilize it if you wish.
To make things clear, the brush should be allowed to naturally dry. Storing it upright should be sufficient; the moisture should evaporate or drain away. This need to be keep in mind when travelling.

Internet Advice:
Getting advice over the net. Half the material on the net is mistaken, and possibly dangerous. By the time you can tell the good information from the bad you have outgrown the advice you are reading. Professional dental journals should be OK; otherwise, if you come across some uncertain advice, check with the dentist.

Brushing after Eating
Our tooth enamel is softened by many food, especially acidic ones. If we brush out teeth after consuming acid foods we damage this softened enamel. Rinse with water first, and wait 30 minutes before brushing.

Something as basic as drinking enough water makes all the difference to our teeth. Fluoride in the water helps protect teeth, and the water itself is necessary for good health. Getting sufficient vitamin D and calcium is also important.
