What are Inlays and Onlays?
An inlay covers one to three surfaces and is useful to cover a small portion of the tooth. An onlay covers the chewing surface of the tooth.
There are two option, porcelain and gold. They are both durable and strong which further strengthens a weakened tooth, preventing it from further damage.
Best Treatment for me?
Inlays and Onlays are beneficial for patients suffering from moderate decay:
- Only a portion of the tooth decayed
- Strong, long – term restoration option
- If you want to keep the tooth healthy without removing it
- Minor fractures or cracks
If the tooth is too damaged, a crown might be a better option.

Cementation and a New Smile!
Single visit restorations eliminate the need for additional appointments and injections, and your tooth is much better off not having a temporary restoration for two weeks. Temporary restorations can fall out and leak, which can lead to subsequent complications. Dental procedures can be traumatic to teeth, and eliminating a second appointment reduces the amount of stress put on a tooth.
